Mobile Notifications and What the App Can Do

Who gets a notification from the Ellipsend app, what to check when you don't get one, and what the app does.

Who Gets Notified

The app notifies you about conversations that are assigned to you, and only those. A conversation that isn't assigned to anyone doesn't notify anyone.

Notifications come from the mobile app. If you don't have it yet, see Get the Ellipsend App on iPhone and Android.

Not Getting Notifications

Check these in order.

  1. The conversation isn't assigned to you. Open it in the web inbox and look at the Assignee dropdown in the contact panel. If it's empty or shows someone else, that's why. How to Assign Conversations to Yourself or a Teammate shows how to change it.

  2. New contacts aren't being assigned automatically. Turn on Auto-Assignment or Auto-Assign on Agent Message in Settings → Inbox → Inbox Agents so conversations get an owner without anyone doing it by hand. The Settings guide covers both.

  3. You aren't an Inbox Agent. Only Inbox Agents can be assigned contacts. See What Is an Inbox Agent?.

  4. Notifications are off. Check that they're on in the app's settings and in your phone's settings for Ellipsend. If both are already on, turning them off and back on sometimes helps.

What the App Does

The app is your inbox. You can read and reply to your conversations from anywhere. Reports, settings, automations, and posting stay on the web at ellipsend.com.

On iPhone, you can turn on Face ID in the app so you don't have to log in every time you open it.

Can't Sign In to the App

The app uses the same email and password as the web. If it says your email or password is incorrect, check the email for a typo first. Log In, Reset Your Password, or Fix an Invite Link covers the rest.
