Your account comes with one campaign and one pipeline already in place, so there's nothing to build from scratch. You set up two things inside it, your pipeline stages and your activities, then connect them. Both live in Settings → Campaigns.
The Pipelines and Activities sections of the Settings guide cover every option.

Stages Show Where a Contact Is Now
A pipeline is the set of stages a contact moves through on the way to a sale. Think of each stage as a folder. A contact sits in one at a time, and your team moves them along as the conversation goes.
Stages keep the inbox organized. Your team filters by stage to see who to work first. A stage only tells you where someone is today, so a contact who's in Lead Qualified this morning could be in Call Booked by tonight.
Activities Record What Happened
An activity is a record of something that happened with a contact, like getting qualified, booking a call, or buying. Once it's logged it stays on the contact, and it's what Reports use to show bookings and revenue next to the post, story, or ad the contact came from.
A stage is where a contact is now. An activity is where they've been.
The Pipeline to Start With
Here's the pipeline we set up with most teams that sell on a call.
New Lead. Contacts who come in through an automation start here.
Engaged Lead. They're in a real conversation with your team.
Lead Qualified. Someone on your team confirmed they're a fit.
Call Booked.
Deal Won - Purchased. Set this one to Won.
Deal Lost - Abandoned. Set this one to Lost.
Nurture. A good fit, just not right now.
Every stage is Active, Won, or Lost. Reports use Won and Lost to count your deals, so set those two and leave the rest on Active.
Keep it short at the start. A new system is easier to stick with when there are fewer stages to remember, and you can add more later. A stage is a step toward the sale. For tags like VIP or hot, use Labels.
Add stages in Settings → Campaigns → Pipelines and drag them into order. How many you can have depends on your plan, and Plans and Limits has the numbers.
The Activities to Start With
Make one activity for each result you want to count. For the pipeline above, that's four.
Lead Qualified
Call Booked. If a booking tool like Calendly is connected, bookings get logged for you. How Tracking Works covers that.
Purchased
Abandoned/DQ
New Lead, Engaged Lead, and Nurture don't need one.
Add them in Settings → Campaigns → Activities. In the Update an Activity Type window, Add a New Field lets you collect a detail each time the activity is logged. A Text Area field for notes is worth adding. Leave Input is Required off on it, so nobody has to write a paragraph just to move a contact.
Map Each Activity to Its Stage
Mapping connects the two. Once an activity is mapped to a stage, moving a contact into that stage in the inbox logs the activity. Your team makes one move and both get done. It's also what keeps your reports accurate, because nobody has to remember a second step.
In Settings → Campaigns → Pipelines, click the edit icon on the stage. The Pipeline Stage Activities window opens.
Check the activities that belong to that stage.
Click Save.
A stage can hold more than one activity. An activity can only be mapped to one stage in a pipeline, so put it on the stage a contact is in when it happens.
Say you want to count every sales video you send. Make a VSL Sent activity and map it to Lead Qualified, since that's the stage a contact is in when you send it. To add it to a contact who's already in that stage, open their panel in the inbox, click the edit icon on their campaign, and add the activity there.
Money on a Purchase
Your purchase activity needs two Money fields, because Reports track cash collected and total revenue separately.
Initial Payment Received. Turn on Received. This is the cash collected.
Total. Turn on Expected. This is the full value of the sale, including payments still to come.
On a $4,500 offer with $1,000 paid up front, Initial Payment Received is $1,000 and Total is $4,500. You can name the two fields anything. What matters is which toggle is on.
If most of your sales are the same price, enter it as the Default Value on both fields. Your team then only changes a number when someone's on a payment plan. Money Fields and Revenue shows where each number appears in Reports.
